In honor of finals week, OU Impressions’ Cardinal Health account will be promoting their Dose of Reality campaign in order to prevent prescription drug abuse.

We all know that finals week is a stressful time for many students on campus, and students often procrastinate, making their lives that much more stressful when deadlines start to quickly approach. What everyone doesn’t know is that students often abuse prescription drugs at a time like this, in order to study longer, make deadlines, etc.

Cardinal Health is a Fortune 19 company that improves the cost-effectiveness of healthcare. They teamed up with The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy to promote the prevention of prescription drug abuse and misuse with the Generation RX Outreach Initiative. According to Cardinal Health, “together, we created a free, comprehensive suite of resources to increase awareness about this issue and encourage action in communities across the country.” Cardinal Health is a client promoted by OU Impressions, the student-run PR firm at OU.

In order to promote the prevention of prescription drug awareness, OU Impressions’ Cardinal Health account has created a campaign called the Dose of Reality. As part of this campaign, they will be passing out free treats at Cafe Bibliotech on the second floor of Alden library tonight from 7:00-8:30 p.m. They will also be supplying coffee sleeves that will educate students and make them aware of the prescription drug abuse problem that is currently surrounding them.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind during finals week:

1. Studies have shown that eating a well-balanced breakfast can increase your short-term memory and attention. Eat up!

2. A tired mind is a slow mind, so don’t forget to catch some shut eye this week!

3. Get moving! Whether you go on a jog, play a pickup game of 3-on-3, or attend a yoga class, taking a break to get some exercise will do you some good.
